This 72nd Independence Day FC GOA’s Supporter Club, Gaur Army have put together for a soulful rendition of the Indian national anthem, which features Goa’s top musical talents and differently abled children from the Gujarati Samaj School for Handicapped in Margao.
The video aims to combine their love for football along with their patriotism for the nation, by capturing these children performing the anthem in sign language at the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda.

A member of the Gaur Army, Conrad Barreto says, “While they may not be the loud football fans that we are in the stadium, this performance by them will still give everyone goosebumps. The video portrays not just their love for football; it’s our way of uniting the nation.”
The video was shot and edited by Arpit Verma, features Goan santoor player Naresh Madgaokar, tabla artiste Vaishnav Shanbag and singer Sabino Dias while it was Mixed and Mastered by Aurville Rodriges.
Sidharth Mehta, a member, adds, “We, as a family, feel that Indian football’s overall fan culture and development will be complete only when our divyangjan (people with disabilities) become an integral part of it.”
John Lloyd Dias, another member of the Gaur Army says, “No matter how many versions of our National Anthem are made, this will always be the most heartwarming and emotional rendition, close to the hearts of football lovers.”
Abhishek Sawant from Gaur Army says “Such platforms like Gaur Army have given new wings to the football culture in Goa with chanting culture and Away Days and we appeal to all Goans to Join The Gaur Army which has big plans to revive the football culture of Goa like never seen before”.
